September 1st: Dr. Douglas Markham, a nationally recognized health and fitness authority and fellow Rotarian, will speak about his Total Health Plan. His nationwide tour focuses on education, implementation and follow-up.
September 8th: Iron County School District introduces its districtwide goal of service. District administrators and staff are studying the book "The Wonder Drug: 7 Scientifically Proven Ways That Serving Others Is the Best Medicine for Yourself," by Anthony Mazzarelli and Stephen Trzeciak. Schools are seeking community partnerships as they participate in at least one big project a quarter.
September 8th: Fiddler Elementary School Food Distribution. For the most heart-warming and exhilarating 30 minutes of your week, plan to arrive at 3:15 pm to distribute food to those in need when school lets out. Other dates: Oct. 13, Nov. 10, Dec. 8, Jan. 12, Feb. 9, March 9, April 13 and May 11.
September 15th: Dictionary labels and school delivery. Rotarians label and deliver dictionaries to all third grade students in Beaver, Garfield and Iron counties.
September 22nd: Jamison Robinett, CEO of Cedar City Hospital and Karin Edwards, Philanthropy Officer, will be talking about the expansion of the Cancer Treatment Center.
